Acute Care Unit (ACU)
Jefferson Healthcare is proud to offer quality, state-of-the-art health care services to the community of East Jefferson County. Our compassionate, professional staff takes pride in caring for the needs of our patients. Your care will be a collaborative effort among our highly trained nursing staff and your physician. As your needs dictate, you may also meet with various members of our care team. This team may include our hospitalist (board certified in internal medicine), dietician, discharge planner, respiratory therapist, physical therapist, pharmacist, or social worker.
Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
If your physician determines the need for constant monitoring, you may be admitted to our ICU. Our ICU has six fully equipped private rooms. The ICU nursing team has over 250 years of combined ICU experience. The registered nurses are specially trained in critical care and they constantly update their skills.
The hospitalist (an in-house internal medicine physician) may see you during daily rounds and coordinate your care with the ICU nurses and your personal primary care provider.
Medical Infusion Services
Intravenous medication administration or intravenous fluid therapy may be required following a hospital stay, or as a prolonged treatment for a chronic condition such as cancer, neuropathies, hemophilia, heart disease, AIDS, or other conditions.
