A bereavement counselor is available to our clients’ family members and caretakers during the time of hospice care and for 13 months following a client’s death. HJC also offers bereavement support groups. The bereavement support groups have an informal, supportive atmosphere. Our groups maintain high standards for group interaction to ensure that each group member has an opportunity to share his or her feelings and to seek the support of others. We follow a practice of strict confidentiality regarding all that is shared within the group.
Our bereavement counselor, Karrie Cannon, MSW, is available Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. She may be contacted at (360) 385-0610. If Karrie is unavailable, you may leave a message or speak with one of our other social workers.
