Cardiac Rehabilitation

Cardiac rehabilitation (rehab) services are designed to help patients with heart disease recover and return to full and productive lives, and to minimize risk of recurrence.

You can benefit from cardiac rehab if you have had

• a heart attack,
• angina or angioplasty/stent placement,
• coronary artery bypass surgery, or
• heart valve replacement surgery.

• heart education classes,
• monitored exercise,
• healthy-lifestyle counseling, and
• personalized exercise programs. 

How Cardiac Rehab Works

• You will start with a private appointment with a cardiac rehab specialist to answer your questions, assess your needs, and set goals.
• You will attend monitored exercise sessions three times a week for 2 to 12 weeks.
• You also will attend personalized education classes.
• You will have ongoing assessment of your progress, and reports will be given to your medical provider.
• You will graduate with a personalized home exercise program and health plan.
