A former certified financial planner and tax preparer, Michael and her husband, Ron, retired to Port Townsend from Boulder, Colorado. While living in Colorado, Michael was actively involved in numerous non-profits as a board member, including St. John’s Episcopal Church, The Frasier Meadows Retirement Community, Voices for Children Guardian Ad Litem Project, and the Colorado Episcopal Foundation. Since moving to Port Townsend in 2006, she has become involved with the Long Range Planning Committee for Jefferson Healthcare; teaching phonics to kindergartners at Chimacum Primary School, through AAUW’s program; teaching basic finance to clients at Dove House; and leadership of Hospice Foundation of Jefferson Healthcare. In retirement, Michael enjoys hiking, walking, playing tennis, kayaking, gardening, playing bridge, reading and. most importantly, her five grandchildren.
A retired Episcopal priest, Bill served parishes in Texas, Oklahoma, Chicago, Montana, and Salt Lake City.
Bill has worked as a hospice volunteer, and was chairperson of the Advisory Board of the Port Townsend Library. He has taught literature, especially poetry, on both high school and college levels, and is coauthor of a study of sexuality and Christianity.
Bill writes poems, sermons, and letters, and remembers with affection the days when he skied and sailed. He is a husband, father, and a grandfather.
Kathy and her husband moved to Port Townsend in 1978. Kathy began her association with Jefferson Healthcare in 1979, volunteering with the Hospital Auxiliary to raise funds for Jefferson Healthcare. Over the years, she served as their treasurer and four times as the president. In the 1980’s she was instrumental in building and managing the first Auxiliary gift shop, which today is their major fundraiser. She currently serves as the chairperson of the Jefferson Healthcare Auxiliary Scholarship committee.
Kathy was elected to Jefferson Healthcare’s Board of Commissioners, in December 1989, and served for 20 years, until December 31, 2009. During her years as a commissioner she represented the hospital and Jefferson County on a state level and for 10 consecutive years in Washington D.C, as a member of the Washington State Hospital Association Rural Committee.
Kathy has two sons and five grandchildren.
A former healthcare administrator, Ron and his wife, Ann, retired to Port Ludlow. His professional career included technical and management services for over 10 years in the aerospace industry. He then worked over 25 years in healthcare services and administration, including positions as executive director of several major hospital cancer programs and centers, hospice programs, and senior/geriatric services. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business, economics, and English from the University of Washington; and graduate degrees from Portland State University in gerontology and long-term care, and the HA Block School of Business at the University of Missouri, Kansas City, in public and health services administration.
Ron is actively involved with several nonprofit organizations in the Jefferson County area that are working to restore and maintain a healthy marine and near-shore environment and salmon runs in Admiralty Inlet, Puget Sound, Hood Canal, and surrounding waters.
He especially enjoys time with his 3 daughters and their families including 8 grandchildren, and with other family and friends. He is an avid fisherman and boater, and plays a little golf.
Cindy McBride moved to Port Townsend in 1991 from New Orleans, Louisiana. She and her husband, Ken, owned fine art galleries in New Orleans, Seattle, and Port Townsend and today are co-owners of a commercial property management company.
Cindy is a longtime Centrum volunteer, having held many positions in support of Centrum’s annual fundraising gala. She currently serves on Centrum’s Board of Directors.In retirement, Cindy enjoys the arts, walking, reading, designing beaded jewelry and, best of all, spending time with her four grandchildren.
Born and raised in the shadow of Mt. Rainier, Keri and her family moved to Port Townsend in 1990 when she accepted the position of cardiac rehab nurse at Jefferson Healthcare.
Keri attended Pacific Lutheran University, in Tacoma, for undergraduate school and began her nursing career working on the Navajo/Hopi Reservation, for the Indian Health Service, in Tuba City, Arizona.
Her nursing career included positions in Seattle and Los Angeles. Since that time, she has worked at Jefferson Healthcare in various capacities and, in 2000, returned to the Home Health department, where she later became the manager.
Keri is married and has one son and two cats. She loves to garden and walk. She appreciates the beauty of the northwest and is grateful to live and work here. In the last two years, both her mother, and later her father died in the care of Jefferson Healthcare’s Hospice service. Keri has a deep commitment to people having choices about healthcare.
Degree in Health Services Administration from the University of Saint Francis in Illinois. She has additional training in personality assessment interpretation; polarity and conflict management; personality and diversity; leadership development; and she is a qualified interpreter of several psychological assessment instruments. She also completed a one year writing certificate program at the University of Washington. Because of a desire to return to her “roots” in clinical nursing, Golda attended an RN Refresher program through Washington State University, in 2009. She is gratified to be working as the Hospice Director where she is able to provide nursing care as well as oversee administrative activities.
Golda is a past member of many non-profit governing boards and is excited to be a member of the Foundation Board to help assure that important hospice services are available in the community.
